Writers, photographers, filmmakers; Ashley and Quentin work in fields that occasionally allow them to embark on adventures. Their plan for 2024? To explore Europe’s mountains on horseback, wearing Super Rando boots. This iconic model from Galibier is the most suitable for horse riding, especially for stirrup grip.
 
They’ve named this adventure Le Sabot Montagnard (The Mountain Hoof). They will cross the Carpathians and the Alps, covering 2,500 kilometres with their horses Fidel, Chai and Brando. Ashley and Quentin first met these Kyrgyz stallions in 2021 during an expedition through the mountains, steppes and even the skies of Kyrgyzstan. After three months of adventures, the couple left the horses in the good hands of a friend in Kyrgyzstan.
 
Now, to bring these horses home, Ashley and Quentin must first arrange for them to be transported by truck from Kyrgyzstan to Poland via Russia. From there, they will ride along the Polish and Slovakian Carpathians before continuing through Austria into France, via Italy and Switzerland.
 
But Le Sabot Montagnard is more than just an expedition; it’s also a film. Throughout their journey, Ashley and Quentin will meet the people who preserve the history and traditions of Europe’s mountains, as well as those who are creating new stories.
