Our care advice
Each pair of Galibier boots is crafted from durable, natural materials. Caring for the leather using suitable products is essential to ensure your boots stand the test of time.
Leather care: the key to durability
Each pair of Galibier boots is made from high-quality raw materials by artisans demonstrating exceptional expertise. See below for our care advice on keeping your shoes looking good for longer, depending on how often you wear them.

1 – Drying
Remove the laces and insole, then leave the shoes to dry in a well-ventilated room. If you notice moisture inside the shoe, you can speed up drying by placing newspaper inside the foot.
Do not dry shoes near a heat source (fireplace, radiator).
Do not leave shoes in direct sunlight.

2 – Brushing and cleaning
Using a polishing brush, vigorously scrub your shoes. If your shoes are heavily soiled, dampen the leather and apply a cleaning foam. Rinse shoes with clean water and leave to air dry.
Do not use detergents as they can damage the leather.
Do not wash shoes in a washing machine.

3 – Nourishing leather
Using a cloth, apply a thin, even coat of natural wax polish. Allow to dry for at least 15 minutes after application, then remove any excess (again using the cloth). Finally, brush the leather with a polishing brush.
Don’t apply too much shoe polish, as this will clog pores and soften the leather.

4 – Waterproofing
Apply waterproofing evenly over the entire shoe, not forgetting the Norwegian seams and small stitches. Allow to dry completely, as the leather may have darkened slightly.
Waterproof regularly, because waterlogged leather loses its waterproofing properties.
